Tulips are ready to hide an egg under or come in and be a centerpiece.
Strawberries survived last weekend’s frost scare. They will soon need the net to protect from the birds. Pears are full of blooms and bees are all over them.
On the right, the mint is plentiful enough to flavor the holiday lamb. The fig on the left shows the results of a mild winter. Little figs that withstood all winter offered this year are swelling. They could be ripe in June and continue to produce through September. Or we could have a year like we had in 2007 when lows hit 28 and 29F on consecutive nights the second week of April. I harvested very little fruit that year. So far its been a good spring. In a few more weeks, we will know if the buds and blooms will be safe.
